About WHRAlliance

A practical alliance for cross-border law firms.

WHR Alliance was created for managing partners who know their clients need support in multiple jurisdictions, but don’t want to build a fragile patchwork of “friends of the firm” or sacrifice independence inside a franchise model.

We started WHR Alliance with a simple observation: many strong independent firms lose cross-border work not because of quality, but because clients assume they need a single mega-firm for anything international.

At the same time, partners were relying on informal personal networks: individual contacts, conference acquaintances, WhatsApp groups. Good for relationships, bad for structure. Referral terms were unclear. Responsiveness was inconsistent. The client experience was unpredictable.

WHR Alliance exists to sit between those two extremes, a curated network of independent firms, with enough structure to be reliable and enough flexibility for each firm to stay fully in control of how they work.

Our Goal is simple, To connect our Clients to Law Firms and get our clients the best suitable Law Firm with no additional cost to them, even if the Law Firm is from another country.

Principles

How we think about collaboration.

Every firm has its own culture and history. WHR Alliance is built on a few principles that let those differences coexist inside one practical network.

Independence first

Each member firm remains fully independent: its own brand, partners, fees and client relationships. The alliance never interferes with your internal strategy or management.

Client-quality standard

Reputation is built case by case. We prioritise firms that care about responsiveness, commercial advice and being easy to work with across time zones and practice areas.

Simple economics

Referral and co-counsel arrangements are agreed directly between firms within clear frameworks, keeping economics transparent for everyone involved — including the client.

Fewer, stronger links

We prefer a smaller number of serious relationships over a huge directory. That way, partners know who to call — and clients feel a consistent quality level across borders.

Realistic workloads

We understand that partners are busy. Processes are designed to be light: clear points of contact, straightforward documentation and support when it actually helps.

Long-term orientation

The goal isn’t one-off files. It’s long-term relationships between firms that repeatedly trust each other with complex work and valuable clients.

Origin & direction

Where WHR Alliance fits in the legal market.

This is a placeholder story you can adapt with your exact founding year, jurisdictions and background as you develop the brand.

2024–2025
Concept and initial conversations with independent firms working on cross-border mandates, testing what they actually want from a network: predictable partners, not another conference.
2025–2026
WHR Alliance begins onboarding a limited number of founding firms in key jurisdictions, focusing on core practice areas and reliable client types rather than sheer country count.
Going forward
The objective is a compact, high-trust network that allows firms to say “yes” to more cross-border work, while staying lean and independent in their home markets.
If your firm is already handling or losing cross-border matters and you want a structured way to work with peers in other jurisdictions, WHRAlliance may be worth a conversation.
